Terms & Conditions
myPixelit is a personal project run by one person: a mechatronics engineering student in Mexico raising money for tuition. These terms explain what you get when you buy pixels, what you agree not to do with them, and what I am able to do if something goes wrong. By using this site or buying pixels, you accept them.
1. What you are buying
Buying pixels gives you the right to display a colour, an optional message and an optional link in the coordinates you selected, on a canvas of 1,000 × 1,000 pixels. Pixels cost $1 USD each, charged through Stripe.
- You are buying display space, not the pixels themselves and not any part of the site.
- The space is intended to stay for as long as the site exists. That intent is not a guarantee: see sections 5 and 7.
- Sold pixels cannot be painted over by other users.
- Once a purchase is complete, its colours, message and link cannot be edited. There are no accounts here, so there is no way to prove afterwards that a given purchase was yours.
2. What you may not publish
You keep ownership of whatever you create, and you are responsible for it. By buying pixels you confirm you have the right to use the artwork, text and link you submit, and you grant me permission to display them on this site indefinitely.
You may not use pixels, messages or links for:
- Sexual content involving minors, or any material that sexualises minors, in any form.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit content.
- Content that promotes hatred or violence against people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation, including symbols associated with those movements.
- Threats, harassment, doxxing, or the personal data of anyone who has not agreed to it.
- Malware, phishing, scams, fraudulent stores, or links that log or track visitors without telling them.
- Link shorteners and redirection services that hide the real destination. These are rejected automatically.
- Copyrighted or trademarked material you have no right to use.
- Anything illegal under the laws of Mexico.
3. Automatic filtering
Messages and links are checked automatically before payment, and some words and domains are rejected. This filter is imperfect in both directions: it can reject a harmless phrase, and it can miss something it should have caught. Passing the filter does not mean content has been approved, and nothing on this canvas is reviewed by a human before it goes live.
4. Content posted by other people
Everything on the canvas other than the site itself was made by users. I do not endorse it and I cannot vouch for any link. Clicking a link takes you to a site I do not control. Visit at your own risk.
If you find something here that breaks section 2, please report it to supportmypixelit@gmail.com with the coordinates. Reports are read by one person and handled as fast as one person can.
5. My right to remove content
Specifically, I may blank the colours of a purchase, remove its message, or disable its link when:
- The content or the link breaks section 2.
- A link that was safe at the time of purchase later starts serving malware, phishing or content that breaks section 2. Domains expire and change hands; a link is not guaranteed to stay clean forever.
- A court, a competent authority, a valid copyright claim, or Stripe requires it.
- The purchase was fraudulent, charged back, or reversed.
When content is removed for breaking these terms, the purchase is not refunded. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, write to supportmypixelit@gmail.com and I will review it personally.
6. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. What I store is the coordinates, colours, message and link of your purchase.
- Because a purchase is published immediately and permanently, sales are final and I do not offer refunds for a change of mind.
- If a technical failure on my side means you paid but did not receive your pixels, I will either place them or refund you. Write to me with your Stripe receipt.
- If two people manage to pay for the same pixel in the same instant, the first payment recorded keeps it and the second is refunded.
- Chargebacks may result in the content being removed.
7. Availability, and the honest version of "forever"
This is a self-funded project running on paid hosting. I intend to keep it online indefinitely, and I keep backups of everything sold. Even so, I cannot promise uninterrupted service, and I cannot promise the site will exist forever regardless of circumstances outside my control. If the site ever has to shut down, I will announce it on the site and on the project's Instagram beforehand.
The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, my total liability related to the site or to a purchase is limited to the amount you actually paid.
8. Privacy
There are no user accounts and no passwords. What is collected:
- Your purchase: coordinates, colours, message and link. This is public by design — that is the product.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy. I receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, not your card.
- Technical data: the server temporarily records IP addresses to prevent abuse, such as one person reserving huge areas of the canvas without paying. These records are short-lived and are not sold or shared.
- Analytics: the site uses Google Analytics to count visits. Payment references are removed from the address bar before analytics runs, so they are never sent.
To ask about the data attached to a purchase, write to supportmypixelit@gmail.com.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the project grows. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Changes are not retroactive: content that was acceptable when you bought it will not be removed simply because a later version of these terms is stricter, unless it falls under section 5.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Contact: supportmypixelit@gmail.com.
